While
this is only my second foray into the gaming section of the Marvell universe,
it will undoubtedly be noted as the one with the highest expectations. For me,
the early commercials of Ultimate Spiderman brought back fond memories of childhood;
most notably the SNES title Spiderman vs. Venom. While it might have been a
simplistic fighter title, the feeling left in the fact that I could finally
take control of one of the lone characters in the Marvell universe that I identified
with was something unreal.
Even though it wasn’t much, to me it was a huge extension of my favorite
superhero, of someone whom I had read a few comics and watched countless shows.
To me, it was that chance to be Spiderman. With that in mind, it’s no
wonder why I was anxious to get into this title, to augment those memories of
simple fights with ones of a rich and flowing storyline, covering the same events.
This time around, I would have the opportunity to swing through the city and
live the life of Spiderman, through his eyes, seeing the events of the life,
basically thinking as he would. With that in mind, won’t you join me as
we take a stroll down memory lane, those days of baddies captured timelessly
in the pages, panel by panel, with our imaginations creating the flowing encounters
between the pages?
