Tanner hits the streets for the third time in a row, this time without a bit of reconstructive surgery. Perhaps the best part to this story is how each chapter of it is delivered – via an amazingly beautifully rendered cut-scene, depicting the actions which set the ball rolling for the events in this section of the game. These action filled moments left us breathless, hearts beating wildly and minds racing that this is going to be sweet. Yet, 10 seconds later a jerky cut-scene involving the game’s models comes to play, effectively dousing the flame of our excitement. Never have I seen a game that can build such a mood then smash it in such a hurry.

Enough with the delivery flaws however, let’s look into exactly what this game’s about. Our opening cut scene depicts an intense firefight, between the French police and a mysterious individual. As the battle wears on, shrapnel raining around the individuals as well as Tanner, he’s hit and forced to retreat to a nearby hospital, where after treatment and therapy, heads back home to Miami to try and work his way into the crime syndicate from the ground up this time. It starts off simply enough, an operation to tag a fugitive in south beach, yet as this chase wears to an end, Tanner receives the assignment that will change it all for him. While the background of his new boss – Calita – a Mexican with explosive flair plays out, Tanner is informed that one of her cars recently went missing and is in possession of a local gang, run by a thug by the name of Tico. After recovering the vehicle, Tanner is forced to escape the jaws of local thug The Gator, who is simply acting out of revenge for the destruction of his precious yacht. The culmination of all these events comes in a setup designed to sting the Queen of South Beach – Calita herself goes horribly wrong. The cops watching her every move aren’t informed that Tanner is an undercover agent, and after a frantic flight from the authorities, he’s on his way to Nice once again to get to the bottom of this auto theft and exportation ring.
