In the end, Thief 3 actually exceeded my expectations. I was expecting a run-of-the-mill stealth game, devoid of innovation and ideal. What I found was a game with much more depth than you normally ever see in them, mixed with a great combination of amazing graphics, awesome sound and an intriguing storyline. There were quite a few new ideas put into place well here, yet their implementation was somewhat shallow. I know I’ve said it before, but it feels like the developers are just testing the waters, teasing us gamers with what’s to come. There are a number of good ideas in practice, but also a number of setbacks and glitches, not to mention a lack of realism and sensibility at some points. Despite it all, if you leave these points aside, you’re left with a game that’s truly worth the time to play; which will last you between fifteen and twenty hours.
