Let's start
with the U.S. side. The new units for the U.S. side are the Avenger Humvee,
the Microwave tank and the Sentry Drone. The Avenger Humvee uses a laser to
knock down enemy aircraft and missiles such as the GLA Scud missiles or Tomahawks.
The secondary weapon of the Avenger is a targeting laser. This Microwave tank
can disable enemy structures with it's microwave beam. The other uses for this
unit are clearing out garrisoned structures and fry infantry surrounding it.
The Sentry Drone is a cloaked unit that can be useful for scouting around. If
you don't fire the guns on the Sentry Drone the enemy can't see it unless they
have a radar van or use the spy satellite to see it, unless you fire at a target.
The U.S. laser general, for example, has tanks with targeting lasers and tanks
with powerful lasers to knock out aircraft and other enemies. This general is
my favorite of the 10 in the game, as he has weapons that can take care of almost
any opponent. I had a rather easy time with the U.S. laser general beating all
8 of the other generals without a loss. In fact I didn't come close to losing,
even on the hard setting. One thing missing from his arsenal are Paladin tanks.
If he had the Paladin tank, however, he would have been extremely hard to beat.
The Air Force General has King Raptor as his main weapon. This is a modification
of the F22 Raptor that most of the U.S. generals use in the game. The third
general on the U.S side specializes in Particle Beam Cannons.
The U.S. Air Force general has 2 specific units no other side can get, the
aforementioned King Raptor and the Combat Chinook. The Combat Chinook is a resource
gatherer like the Chinook from the Generals game, but with portals on the side
for infantry which are garrisoned within the helicopter to fire out of. The
laser general has the aforementioned laser tank and the weapons of mass destruction
general has a Aurora bomber that drops fuel air explosives. The fuel air explosive
flattens enemy infantry. |
