There are two versions of the game in the same package depending on what kind of system you are playing it on it can look better or worse. For the user with a NVIDIA card like the GeForce GTX 285 or GTX 295 you can use GeForce 3D Vision with this game assuming you have the glasses and a monitor capable of 120Hz. The DirectX 10.0 version of the game has slightly better visuals with clothing that is shinier and perhaps better lighting. The game’s visuals get the job done with nicely rendered enemies.

The bosses in the game are particularly well rendered. The first boss of Chapter 1 has a undulating form of tentacles made out of flesh and globules that need to be blown or cut off in order to kill him. Other enemies include a chainsaw wielding Majini that comes after you with a chainsaw. The second boss is sort of a hybrid between a caterpillar and a bat that crawls on the ground or takes flight to attack you.

Sound in the game is realistic and tends to improve the ambience of the game. Gun shots are realistic with a pistol sounding like a pistol and a shotgun like a shotgun. Moving around the villages and various areas of the game gives sounds that are like footsteps. In the Furnace area the footsteps sound metallic as the floor is metal. The cut scenes and radio messages all have differing voices for each character.
