If you have Operation Flashpoint, Op. Flashpoint Resistance and ARMA, purchasing this game is going to be a very tough decision for you to make. On one hand, you're going to want the latest installment, but on the other hand, do you really need it?
ARMA 2 is for the most part the same game that the previous games were with a few slight performance changes and a new map for us to explore and play on. The storyline is a big failure in my opinion, but I'm sure there will be some people who like it. The map/mission editor is probably the game's best feature. Using the editor can keep this game fresh for a very long time; with the editor you can create single as well as multiplayer missions.
Now, if you're an Op. Flashpoint veteran you know what you're getting yourself into, but if you're new to the series, I want to point out that ARMA 2 does not play like your average shooter. While you do shot many things in this game, it is in fact not a shooter but a military simulator. If you play this game with the "Rambo" mentality and are always on your feet rushing in, you're going to die over and over and over again. Much to this game is crawling on your belly and popping up once in a while to take a couple of shots. Once again, this is much more of a simulator then a shooter. Keep that in mind before you think that you're getting another version of Call of Duty.
