RPGs are my personal favorite type of video game. Normally RPGs will tend to give you more game time and a higher variety of game variation, therefore adding to the value of a game. Nothing is worse then purchasing a video game and getting only 4-8 hours of play out of it. With Sacred 2, the lack of a lengthy gaming experience will not occur. From creating your character, to upgrading and adding new weapons and skills the gamer will be kept steadily busy in Ancaria, the land in which Sacred 2 is set. The more you can upgrade, find or kill...the better. Zombies, Harpers, Bandits, evil sorcerers and the like make the RPG adaptable, complex and time consuming genre.
Most know Diablo or even what Neverwinter Nights Series is about. Cut down the foes, find the loot, level up and proceed through the cities, dungeons and the like. Encounter unique and diverse groups and characters. But if the game does not progress properly, is repetitive or just plan is lacking in game style or uniqueness then the game itself will end up as a coaster for the soda while the new game is being played.
Good RPGs can be hard to find as there are so many of them around. But a good quality series will live on and demand more from the gamer. The better the game, the more you want it right!!?! The new trend in the genre is to make them online capable, allowing for custom MODS or adventures in the game. This gives the gamer a different experience each time they play thru the game and also allows the gamer to interact with other gamers who play the RPG. |
