The game's sound does what it is supposed to do but at the same time it will not leave a ever-lasting memory; there is nothing spectacular or special about it.

The game's music has the traditional RTS music beats; the song goes from slow to fast and vice versa. While the music is nothing special it at least is decent enough to be tolerated over long periods of game play. Now, once you get bored of it you can always turn it off and just listen to the radio or to your mp3s.

The game allows for a decent amount of voice acting but it is not overwhelming like many other games. The tutorial for example, does an excellent job of teach us the basics by providing written as well as spoken instructions. Also, you can find speech during mission briefings and in the movie files. The rest of the game's graphics are also done fairly well but at the same time there is nothing original. In the game's defense, there's only so much originality that you can put in the clinging of swords and shields or in the sound that a burning fire produces. As I've said, you're not going to be disappointed by this game's sound but at the same time you're not going to be overly impressed either.

When it comes to graphics, Kalypso did an excellent job with Grand Ages - Rome. I'm not really sure if the game utilizes a new engine considering that in look and feel it is very similar to Imperium Romanum but either or, the game's graphics are impressive. There are a multitude of buildings can be constructed in this game, and they all look superbly rendered. The camera is also very user friendly. Just as most other RTS style games, in Grand Ages - Rome the mouse wheel/middle button is responsible for camera controls (the wheel zooms in and out while holding down the wheel activates the middle mouse button which is responsible for camera angle and rotation). The quality of the buildings along with the quality of the terrain and the day/night and weather cycles make the look to this game fresh, original and very beautiful. The worst part of the graphics are the quality of the troops. The troops are not badly rendered by any means, it is just that after playing Rome Total War it will take a lot more to impress me when it comes to troop quality. Overall though, Grand Age - Rome is full of what the gaming community refers to as 'eye-candy'.
