Space! The final frontier. I can't help but notice how cool that sounds and how inaccurate and accurate that is at the same time.

From a chemistry and physics perspective anything with matter takes space therefore since humans are a body of matter space is truly indeed the final frontier. Unfortunately, from a Sci-Fi perspective I would have to disagree.

To me the final frontier would be a black-hole. Black-holes are a complete mystery. But before I toss my career into a black-hole I better get back to the subject at hand: Dark Horizon. Dark Horizon is a space flight game made by Paradox Interactive. While there have been a few space games made since the Freespace series I can say without a reason of a doubt that the last good space game that I've played was Freespace 2 and that was exactly 10 years ago.

At this point I don't even know what to expect. The game was only twenty dollars which makes taking a guess even that much harder. The three tiny pictures on the game box are so small that it makes it impossible to even judge the quality of the graphics; at least they're big enough to be able to tell that this is a space game. What really gets my attention though are two of the three features listed on the box. Apparently we can gather resources and disassemble unused parts in order to use them to create new weapons and "build the ultimate space vessel." The other feature that got my attention was the "nearly endless chances for customization." I like tinkering and customizing things so this sounds right up my alley. Could we finally have another decent space game around? I'm anxious to find out; are you?
