Some saying make more sense than others, and time and time again I realize how important it is to not judge a book by its cover.

This is the case with Zoo Tycoon 2. After a few minutes of playing the game I thought that it was a complete joke, but as I gave it more time I realized that Zoo Tycoon 2: Ultimate Collection is actually a complex and well thought game.

Your first task is to build a fenced area and while building a fence is as easy as clicking and dragging, the final result may not be as effective as you would like unless you put some thought behind it. There are a wide variety of materials to build fences from anywhere from wood to chain-link to iron bar fences. You can even fence things in around hedges or stone walls. The fence height is also a matter that needs consideration. Some animals are taller then others and some are much stronger then others. You probably don't want to fence in a lion with a short hedge fence; not if you want to hold the lion in anyhow.

One of the most complex features in Zoo Tycoon 2: Ultimate Collection is dealing with your animals. There are 9 tabs that you have to pay attention to: thirst, hunger, environment, rest, exercise, stimulation, social, hygiene and privacy. The game's manual shared a great formula for success, a formula that I will share with you. "Healthy Animals = Happy Animals, Happy Animals = Happy Guests, Happy Animals + Happy Guests = Zoo Profits and Fame." While this formula seems really easy on paper, it is not quiet as easy to accomplish in your zoo. The bigger your zoo gets and the more animals you acquire the harder it will be to keep an eye on everything. Don't be stingy about hiring the appropriate help. Your staff is made up of zookeepers, animal educators, marine animal trainers, maintenance workers, guest entertainers, paleontologists and there's even a dino capture team. There are plenty of things to keep you busy in Zoo Tycoon 2: Ultimate Collection; Jeep Vehicle Tours, Sky Tram Tours, Animal Shows, and even Elevated Paths that give your guests a better view of the exhibits are some of the features. As I've said earlier, Zoo Tycoon 2: Ultimate Collection is actually a very complex game.
