Zoos are both good and evil. Education is the positive side that comes from having zoos. I remember being a little kid and loving to go to the zoo. I was so excited about seeing the animals and learning about them, but as I got older my opinion about the zoo has changed.

When I look at zoos now with adult eyes I understand their purpose, but I the same time I can't help but look at all those animals as incarcerated prisoners. You can just look in their eyes and see that that all they want is freedom. Although I can't provide freedom or a better environment for some of the animals found in zoos across the world, what I can do is provide a great environment for my virtual reality animals in Zoo Tycoon 2 - Ultimate Collection.

Microsoft has bundled together Zoo Tycoon 2 and all 4 expansion packs, Extinct Animals, Marine Mania, African Adventure and Endangered Species. With over 100 animals from round the globe at your disposal and the ability to create marine shows and wild animal safaris this sounds like a great game for kids and adults as well. This game actually sounds like the perfect game for parents and children to enjoy together; the parents can build and run the zoo while the kids can be entertained by the animals. But does it work like that in reality? I don't have children so I can't test the bond that this game might create between kids and their parents, but what I can provide is accurate detail about the game. Are the controls working well? Do the graphics have glitches? Are the animals realistic looking? Is the game educational in the sense that that it can teach children about animals? All these questions and more will be answered in the following sections of this review.
