Once again the Russians are the bad guys and this time instead of threatening the world with their powerful nukes, the Russians have a new strategy: the time machine.

Colonel Cherdenko played by Tim Curry steps into the time machine accompanied by General Krukov (Andrew Divoff) and Russian scientist Dr. Zelinsky (Peter Stormare), and after some rather bad special effects for Hollywood they arrive just in time to assassinate Einstein before he can share his knowledge with the world.

With Einstein out of the picture history is rewritten, and upon their return home, the three time travelers find out how much things have really changed. Colonel Cherdenko find himself at the top of the chain, now Premier Cherdenko and the Russian army is no longer annihilated; actually the Russian army is winning the war in Europe now. Yet, when all things seem to go right for Russia for a change, a new enemy emerges. The Empire of the Rising Sun is mobilized and attacking the world with their state of the art technology. Maybe Cherdenko should not have assassinated Einstein because once again, Russia seems to be doomed. Now it is up to you to command your troops and conquer your enemies.
