Test Drive isn’t like it used to be, and that is a good thing. Atari has tried to make this into a noticed racing franchise, instead of just another racing game that gets overlooked by a lot of gamers. This time around they have taken the wildly successful Xbox360 game Test Drive Unlimited, and put it on the PS2.

Before I got a chance to play the PS2 version, I had some hands-on time with the PC version, and it was ported very well. I have a feeling that a game made for the current generation of consoles and computers isn’t going to hold up as well on this older hardware. I also feel that the online mode will suffer do to PS2’s lack of any real online “service” like Xbox Live. Hopefully this game will be able to overcome and still prove to be a good racing game in its own right.
