As mentioned earlier I absolutely believe that some of the awards given were completely rigged. I stand behind that statement, and unless Spike TV is willing to completely disclose their funding over the last year I don't think that they have any merit whatsoever to challenge my statement.

Some of the worst video games that I reviewed this year were some of the top winners (or at least nominees) and I am absolutely shocked. For starters, the game that won best multi-player game and also the best PC game, Valve's Left 4 Dead is a complete dud. I do not see how anyone in their right mind could nominate this game for anything except the worst game of 2008. The game was filled with graphic bugs, the multi-player was very limited, extremely redundant and boring and no real gamer will tell you otherwise.

Another very disappointing factor from an accuracy perspective is the garbled mess of some of the award categories. For example, Fallout 3 won best RPG (role playing game). I reviewed Fallout 3 myself an I was extremely impressed with it, but at the same time, Fallout 3 is a single player game. Any true gamer will not disagree that you can not compare a single player RPG to a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game). The way the games are designed, comparing a single player RPG to an MMORPG would be like comparing apples with oranges. While they are both labeled as fruits, that is where the similarity ends. Spike TV's Video Game Awards were completely filled with biases, awarding games that absolutely have no merit and ignoring 2008's true masterpieces. YES, they got it right on some of the awards given, but as most people know, the best way to get away with a lie is to embedded in some truth.
