Medal Of Honour: European Assault

Author: Nick Haywood

"The 11 missions won’t take a seasoned FPS shooter more than a day’s solid play to complete and even going back, exploring every level and completing all the secondary missions won’t add more than a few hours onto the total playing time. Overall, MOH:EA has tried to do something new with the series and whilst it has succeeded in places, it’s failed in others, leaving MOH:EA as one for fans of the series giving a better experience than Rising Sun but falling short of the standards set by Medal of Honour: Frontline."

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Author: Nick Haywood

"So, is it worth holding up a liquor store for the cash to get GTA: San Andreas? That all depends on how much you enjoyed the last game, to be honest. Given the tweaks that San Andreas has had over Vice City, this is certainly a more polished game and far more story driven than Vice City was. There’s a much larger playing area here than in Vice City, though it has to be said that some of Vice City’s missions were more fun than those in San Andreas."

Area 51 - PC

Author: Nick Haywood

"Overall, Area 51 isn’t a bad game by any means, but it is an average one by a long way. There’s very little new to see here, with the mutant mode adding a nice gameplay touch but being underused and under powered in multiplayer. Stand out gameplay moments are few and far between but they are there and though some of them are as predictable as Doom 3, there are few shock moments to be had."

Sony take UK PSP importers to the High Court

Author: Nick Haywood

"Perversely, Sony has NOT taken action against the large high street chains who are openly selling masses of PSP paraphernalia. It's only appears to be the smaller, independent online trader who is facing Sony's wrath. Retail stores such as Game are importing PSPs to show off the units capabilities and across Europe, high street chains and online retailers are still trading with impunity."

Battlefield 2 Video Card Performance: ATI vs Nvidia, BF2 lan party

"As we can see at high details with a definitely above average test system, Battlefield 2 is quite intense on performance. While it is definitely more than playable, we believe more accurate game play results from another perspective would be slightly slower than the results we obtained. Hopefully DICE will add a true benchmark feature to the final game but given what they've done previously that doesn't seem likely.

Also we are holding lan parties for Battlefield 2 specifically in Austin and Dallas soon. Gamers can find out details at www.TXGF.com."

Saitek X52 Flight Control System

Author: Nick Haywood

"In summing up, it has to be said that Saitek are going to have to do something amazing to be able to top the X52, it really is that good. Users of the X45 will at first find it feels too light as we’re used to heaving our sticks about like Geoff Capes tossing a caber, but get up in the air and needing a lighter touch on the stick will soon show in how much easier flying accurately becomes. The two-stage trigger is great, as are the toggle buttons, and though the majority of the lighting is just for show, the MFD is a truly useful addition for serious simmers."

GRAND THEFT AUTO: SAN ANDREAS Out Now for Xbox & PC

The time has come for Xbox® and PC owners around the world to finally be treated to the sprawling West Coast epic, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Xbox.IGN.com - "I was blown away all over again by how much fun the series is. If this game is about anything, it's about the little things. Hundreds of thousands of little things."

"For those sole Xbox owners... What's in store for you? A massive action-adventure game filled with an improved combat system, longer, deeper missions, and the biggest game world you've ever seen this side of an MMORPG."

Adrenaline Vault - "An unfair statement would be to say 'the graphics are better,' and leave it at that... the permutation goes deeper than mere texture improvement...

Rockstar looked to the future with the creation of the title and saved all of the original high-resolution game assets - enabling them to then reissue these unadulterated shots on the PC which is far more capable of handling such advanced content.

If you never had the chance to play San Andreas on PS2, this title proves to be a must have for the PC. On the other hand, if you already own it on PS2, it's still a great pickup with all the new additions..."

Dark Age of Camelot: Catacombs

Author: Nick Haywood

"Catacombs puts DAoC on a par with WoW and Everquest and opens up the arena again. In the end it comes down to what you prefer to play. Everquest’s heavily fantasy rich game, WoW’s Warcraft universe or DAoC’s fantasy/medieval mix. For what it’s worth, I’d go for DAoC over Everquest, but I’m torn between this and WoW. DAoC gives a more traditional fantasy experience, so for the newcomer trying out a MMPORPG for the first time, DAoC might be the way to go as there’s more of the traditional fantasy fare in here than WoW."
